The Columbus Blue Jackets have officially recalled defenseman David Jiricek from the Cleveland Monsters. Jiricek has been the Monsters' best defenseman all season, registering 12 goals and 34 assists in 58 games.
Filling the Void
Head coach Trent Vogelhuber will need to restructure his defensive pairings. The most likely scenario involves moving veteran Jordan Harris into the top pairing and giving increased minutes to rookie Marcus Bjork.
Silver Lining
The recall is a testament to the Monsters' excellent development program. For the playoff push, the Monsters still have plenty of talent. Goaltender Pavel Cajan has been outstanding, and the forward group is deep.
