While their Cleveland NFL counterparts are handling their own Detroit opponent, the Tribe falls to the Tigers in Comerica Park, 4-1. Tomlin started effectively but after giving up back-to-back first pitch homers to Jhonny Peralta and Alex Avila was sent to the showers, taking the Tribe loss with him. The Indians lone run came when Carlos Santana scored from 3rd on a wild pitch. If the Tribe wants to leave Detroit with more than one win (or any wins) they’ll need to do more than accidentally score a run or two.

The loss puts the Indians 2.5 back of the host Tigers.
