Hardecore Browns fans rejoice, the bane of your existence shall not enter the hall. Pro Football Hall of Fame voters once again decided that one Arthur B. Modell is not hall worthy. A finalist once again, though this time under the context of Special Contributor thanks to his work on things like the NFL television contracts and Monday Night Football, Model did not gather enough votes for enshrinement. This was the first posthumous vote for Modell, who passed away last September. Many feel this might have been his last shot to get in, on a weekend where one of his former employees, OT Jonathan Ogden was voted in, and his former team that was unceremoniously moved from Cleveland is playing in their second Super Bowl.

Many Browns fans see this as the rightful decision, while many Ravens fans feel Art’s rightful place is in the Hall of Fame. The decision comes after weeks of debate regarding the merits of Modell both good and bad in his time both in Cleveland and Baltimore. It is very likely that this will be the last time this debate will go one with enshrinement on the line for Modell.
